Over 800 children were victims of crimes in Tulare County in 2016. One of the members of the Tulare County District Attorney's team is a dog named Fortune whose primary function is to bring comfort to young victims of crime.  Fortune's handler and a victim's advocate, Jennifer Lightfoot, said that just the presence of the dog serves as a general ice breaker and can relieve stress and aid in the free flowing of information during a child interview. Fortune was purchased through Assistance Dogs of the West with money from the trust fund set up by former District Attorney Phil Cline. We are excited to welcome Fortune and Jennifer to our podium on July 12 to hear about their work in our community.

Register online to let us know you are coming. If you have any issues, don't hesitate to contact Deene Souza at vice.president@visalia-rwf.org or (559) 730-6100
