Our guest speaker this month is Lupe Espinoza. Lupe was the 2018 Assembly Candidate for District 31. She was raised in the Central Valley; she and her family still live and work in Coalinga. After graduating, from Fresno state with a double major in Agricultural Education and Chicano/Latino studies, Lupe went on to earn her Master’s in Education and Counseling.
Lupe currently works as a Program/Project Director managing Department of Education federally funded pre-college programs within the University of California system, where she gives valuable advice to students seeking their career path and works with school districts to help increase academic achievement levels.
As a candidate, Lupe sought to lower the tax burden, repeal the gas tax, fight legislation that is harmful to small businesses and communities, increase access to water for farms, build water storage and improve support for veterans among other things. Most importantly, Lupe’s main passion and drive is to hold Sacramento and its corrupt politicians accountable.
