    • Demaree overpass on HWY 198

Memorial Weekend is a reverent time to remember our fallen soldiers and loved ones. It’s also a great time to wave American flags! VRWF will participate in the first annual “Adopt an Overpass - Memorial Weekend Flag Rally” on Saturday May 28th.  We will be encouraging groups from all over Tulare County to adopt and overpass. If you are part of another group that would be interested in participating in this display of patriotism, please contact me! (Ellen Woitalla)

Our group will wave flags on the Demaree Bridge on Hwy 198 from 9-11 AM. Come for all or part . . . whatever time you're able to participate is appreciated! Park in the Burger King parking lot. Mark your calendar.

    • Visalia District Cemetery

The Avenue of Flags Military Veterans’ Association annual Memorial Day ceremony will be held Monday, May 30th, at the Visalia District Cemetery. Veterans and volunteers will place over 2300 large American flags at the cemetery  with each one marked with a deceased veteran’s name and branch of service.

There are designated teams that need our assistance.  We meet that day at 6:30 a.m. in the cool of morning. You can walk with any group and assist in unfolding a flag, attaching it to the pole or putting the pole in the ground.

At 4:00 p.m. we meet back at the cemetery to travel the same route, take down the pole, folding the flag and putting the flag in the vehicle so it can eventually go to storage. There are many helpers in the morning but the afternoon can be pretty warm.  We appreciate any time you can give, even if just an hour.  Bill and Laurel Flores will be on hand to answer any questions, or help you find a group to assist. What a great way to honor our Veterans !! Let us know if we can count on your assistance!

    • Mon, May 30, 2022
    • 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM
    • TBD

We're back and we're still walking neighborhoods! It's the final push before the midterm elections! We still need your help to Get Out The Vote (GOTV). If you would like to help walk neighborhoods to remind people to vote, help get them registered, troubleshoot why they didn't get ballots, etc...please sign up and we will let you know which neighborhood we are targeting on Sunday night for the Monday night session. You don't have to participate every Monday, but could you at least help once or twice? And do not think you'll canvass alone. We will do it in pairs, but that means we need people to sign up. Grab a friend and give it a shot. Look for this email every Wednesday for the following Monday neighborhood target event.

Reject our society's liberal bias against conservative women and learn how traditional principles will secure a better future for us all with this inspiring guide from a political powerhouse.
The Mind of a Conservative Woman challenges women to improve their place in life and open doors for themselves and the next generation through the courage of their convictions. Senator Blackburn expounds upon why beliefs labeled as "traditional" have common ground and can improve all of society, such as:

    • Protecting the next generation, the family, and the freedom of faith and values,
    • Supporting a free market that rewards women who apply their talents and rise to great heights,
    • Respecting the institutions in our nation to make change from the inside,
    • Securing an effective government that will not overreach, and
    • Honoring and respecting those who hold differing opinions.

Though it is politically liberal women who receive the attention of left-leaning media and universities, it is conservatism that guarantees what most women hold dear. Blackburn addresses the frustrations of working women and the false perceptions of women presented by the media in general.
Her maxim "Leave Things in Better Shape Than You Found Them" will challenge you to improve your place in life and create opportunities you never dreamed possible for yourself and those around you.

Please come if you're able. And RSVP so we know how many people will be there and have plenty of equipment. Many hands make light work. We clean until 8:00 AM and then we call it quits! One hour, that's it!  We hope you will join in on this Caring for America Project so that you will have EXTREME pride knowing our group is contributing to make our community more aesthetically pleasing!
